In keeping with the iconic look of Pride Rock we tried to give height as well as more levels for acting while keeping the footprint as minimal as possible to allow the 50+ students and dancers room to move. Along with a rising sun, flown jungle vines, an additional rolling set unit (to form Scar’s cave piece), “elephant bones” and acting cube “rocks” we extended the stage with a thrust and stairs to allow the actors movement through the audience.
